Preference Manager

MultiZilla is about giving you the freedom of configuring it the way you want, thus we had to add a large number of new preference panels, but switched to our own Preference Manager with MultiZilla v1.5.0.2, which was completely redesigned for MultiZilla v1.8.3.2c.

Introduction
The Popups preferences (or settings) panel gives you control over...
Popup Blocking

Allow popup windows (acceptance policy)
If this box is ticked, then some popup windows will be allowed, based on your other preferences.
Plugin behaviour
This set of preferences defines what happens when a plugin tries to open a new popup window. You can choose to allow all the popup windows that a plugin tries to open; you can limit the number that a given plugin tries to open; you can block them all; or you can choose to block all popup windows, even if they are on your whitelist.
Open Permission Manager
Opens the Permission Manager to see what popup permissions are set for certain websites.
Limit maximum number of popup windows
If you allow popup windows, you can restrict the number of popups that a domain can open to a given maximum based on this pref.
New windows should have at least the following window features
When a page opens a new popup window, it can choose what features of that window to display. This lets you override the page and always show some parts of the window "chrome". These options are used by windows that are opened when the New Window Redirector isn't used – i.e. when you have a setting to always allow new windows from a website to open.

Enable MultiZilla to intercept new window requests
If this box is checked then MultiZilla will intercept requests by a page to open a new window when you click on a link. You can choose what to do with them based on the other prefs on this page.
Websites without a permission in the Permission Manager should:
Ask me what I want to do before opening new windows
Whenever a website tries to open a new window, a dialog will ask you what to do with it. You can allow the new window to open, you can block it, or you can open it in a new tab.
Open new tabs instead of new windows
Whenever a website tries to open a new window, it will open in a new tab instead of a new window.
Be blocked from opening new windows
Whenever a website tries to open a new window, it will be blocked and the new window will not open.
Be allowed to open new windows
Whenever a website tries to open a new window, it will be allowed to do so.
Open Permission Manager
Opens the Permission Manager to see what popup permissions are set for certain websites.
Redirect new window requests from javascript:window.open links to new tabs
Links that use href="javascript:window.open()" instead of target="_blank" are sort of special for SeaMonkey so we need this preference. You might want to open a new tab for target="_blank" but a new window for href="javascript:window.open()" or vice versa.
Add missing, or override new window features specified by website
When a page opens a new popup window, it can choose what features of that window to display. This lets you override the page and always show some parts of the window "chrome". These options are used when a window is allowed to open by the New Window Redirector.
Notifications

Audio notifications
Play a sound when a popup window has been blocked
You can choose to hear a sound when a popup window is blocked. From this section you can either enter the path to the file directly or use the Select a sound... button to browse to the file. You can then test it to make sure that it works.
Visual notifications
Display popup icon on the status bar when a popup window has been blocked
If this is checked then an icon will be displayed in the status bar when a popup is blocked. Clicking on this icon will bring up a menu that will allow you to view that blocked page in a new window or tab.
Display Info message when new windows are blocked
If this is checked then whenever a popup window is blocked a strip will appear at the top of the page telling you of this. Clicking the options button on this strip will give you the option to open the blocked popup in a new tab or window.
Enable middle-click close
If this is checked then you will be able to close the info popup by middle clicking on it.
Display popup icon on the tab when a new window has been blocked
If this is checked then an icon will be displayed where the favicon normally is on the tab indicating that a popup window has been blocked.
Remove popup icon after X milliseconds
Enter the number of milliseconds after which the icon should be removed from the tab. If this is set to 0 then the icon will not be shown.
